Matt and Kim

Song: Daylight
Artist: Matt and Kim
Album: Grand

Has this been on a commercial? I feel like I've heard it somewhere. Anyways, I really like Matt and Kim, they have a really good vocals and their beat is always fun. The song Yeah Yea is good too, I don't know what else to say about this song because I don't no much about them, but check them out all the same.

Backseat Goodbye

Song: Technicolor Eyes
Artist: Backseat Goodbye
Album: Nightmares Are For Dreamers OR Technicolor Eyes (single)

Backseat Goodbye is the solo work of Chad Sugg. He writes all his own songs and they are marvelous. This one is my favorite, the lyrics are really bouncy and cute. In this song he mentions the show Friends [ which I love ] and the character Ross. My favorite line is "pretty pictures and shirts that are too small for my child-like figure that you're so in love with"

I found this song through YouTube, there's no music video but you can always watch fan made videos, which are always interesting.

thenewno2

Song:Another John Doe
Artist: thenewno2
Album: You Are Here

Dhani Harrison! That's right, George Harrison's son! Now, for some reason I feel that he has somehow managed to step out of the spotlight. The only way I heard of his band is through Rolling Stone, but that was the first, and last time I saw any media about him. The band is made up of Dhani Harriosn and Oliver Hecks.

This song is super mellow and he has for sure inherited song of his father talents, as well as his looks. The band's "symbol" [ which is the head of all the people on their album cover ] is really interesting. Personally,I see a Loch Ness monster, or a giraffe.

A nifty link to the music video!

Owl City

Song: Rainbow Veins
Artist: Owl City
Album: Maybe I'm Dreaming

"Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains, and I'll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins." Oh these lyrics are so fun. I was trying to find a place to quote but it was so hard. There were so many great lines! This is one of my favorites, but I'd say the whole song is one great quote.

Owl City is a really amazing band, I like their songs Hello Seattle and Designer Skyline too. But now that I come to think of it, isn't Owl City just one guy? So I really should be saying " I like his songs"

There is no music video for this song, at least none that I have found. But check it out all the same.
- a little late note. my new favorite songs by him are Fireflies and Vanilla Twilight. Take a listen :) -

Death Cab For Cutie

Song: Title and Regisration
Artist: Death Cab For Cutie
Album: Transatlanticism

Oh my! I love Death Cab For Cutie, for one reason they are from Seattle and another reason is their songs are so mellow, but still great. I like this song especially, it has a great beat and the music video is great as well.

MGMT

Song: Electric Feel
Artist: MGMT
Album: Oracular Spectacular

MGMT is such a great band. The appeared in Rolling Stone a while ago and they had a spread and the title was " The Band Everyone Wants To Be In". It's true. Wouldn't you love being in MGMT? I would! Apart from the drugs and all it sounds great.

This song is one of the catchiest from their album. Other great songs off this album include, Time To Pretend, Kids and Of Moons,Birds&Monsters. I bought this album because I really liked the song Kids, and then found Time To Pretend and Electric Feel are just as good.

There's no music video for this song but this YouTuber, who goes by elshanyez, did a great cover of MGMT's Kids and I think you should check it out and subscribe to him. He's amazing.

Here's Kids, covered by Shanye Orok.

Alphabeat

Song: Fascination
Artist: Alphabeat
Album: This Is Alphabeat

It's Alphabeat, not Alphabet. Alphabeat is from Denmark! They are made up of;

Stine [ the only girl] - Vocals
Anders SG - Vocals
Anders B - Guitar
Rasmus Nagel - Keyboard
Anders R - Bass
Troels Hansen - Drums

This song is really fun, and kinda makes you want to jump up and try some cool new dance move. This band is almost 80's inspired, their album "This is Alphabeat" has songs like 10,000 Nights of Thunder, Fantastic 6 and many more. I really enjoy all of their music.
Here's the link to Fascination.

Also! I found a great remix of the song, its a lot more dance, so check this out too!

Vampire Weekend

Song: Oxford Comma
Artist: Vampire Weekend
Album: Vampire Weekend.

I love self-titled albums, they make my googleing so much easier.

This song was once again showed to me by my best friend. I swear, shes knows my type of music better than I do,which I guess is her type of music too.[ she does sometimes say " a little too techno-y" about some of the songs I like.] This song is really cute, but not because of the lyrics. It's more about the beat of the song, it's bouncy and simple enough to where you can tap your foot without realizing that your dreams of becoming a drummer have just come crashing down.

Take a listen and watch the music video :)

The Torn ACL's

Song: Reputation
Artist: The Torn ACL's
Album: Cedar By The Sea

So, if you decide to listen to this song, good luck finding it. They have two of their songs on YouTube and the only way i found them were by YouTubeing "The Torn ACL's Live" , otherwise you will just get videos of people tearing their ACL's and blah blah blah.

So this song starts off with clapping in a good rhythm which then turns into a drumbeat?! It's a-ma-zing. I got their EP, Cedar By The Sea, for free! you just email them your mailing address! I don't know if their still doing that, but go to thetornacl's.net [ i think that's the link, just google them.]

My best friend's brother is in the band! and that's how i found out about them, they have a Myspace also with pictures and upcoming shows. CHECK THEM OUT!

The Kooks

Song: She Moves in Her Own Way
Artist: The Kooks
Album:Inside In Inside Out

The Kooks!

I love so many of their songs, but i couldn't find one that wasn't mainstream, because i don't wanna do a post on a song everyone already knows! The first song i heard by them is Shine On , which is one of my absolute favorite songs. Anyways, I swear I've heard this song on a commercial but I can't figure it out.

The music video takes place somewhere in Mexico i think. and it shows them riding around on their tour bus, its a great song and always cheers me up.

The Ready Set

Song: You Talk I'll Listen
Artist: The Ready Set
Album: ?

I couldn't find the album for this song, nor the lyrics. BUT its a great song. It's almost a serenade. Makes me want to know who it is about, the first lines are my favorite. " And what a heart you've got inside chest, its another song worth singing."

Song: So Contagiuos
Artist: Acceptance
Album: Phantoms

Great song, great lyrics, love it.

-thanks walker, :)

NeverShoutNever!

Song: Trouble
Artist: NeverShoutNever!
Album: Me& My Uke

I went away for the weekend and the whole time this song was stuck in my head so I decided to do a post on it. Trouble is about one of the sweetest songs I've heard. NeverShoutNever! is a band of one person, Christofer Drew Ingle, and this album is my favorite because of the ukulele. He plays guitar too but I think the uke makes this album extra special.

NeverShoutNever! is by far one of my favorite bands, with songs like She's Got Style, Your Biggest Fan and Happy, they are all really catchy and have a good beat. Christofer is only 18 [ that may be wrong but that's what I found ]

I just learned that his Summer EP just came out! And it has some great songs on it, a slightly different sound with harder guitar sounds, but still great.
